SUBJECT: NET$MSG.SYS
DATE: April 23, 1990
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
GENERAL
INFORMATION: NET$MSG.SYS is a system hidden file in the system directory.
It is used by the "send" command to pipe messages. This
file is always open as long as the system is up.
NET$LOG.MSG is a file that applications can make API calls
to and pipe their network error messages to. There is no
problem deleting this file. If the application makes a
call to save data to this file and it does not exist, the
file server will create the file and will be the owner of
this file. If NET$LOG.MSG grows fairly quickly, that could
be a sign that an appliction is having problems on the LAN
or that a user is doing something wrong.
